In this episode of Allo' Allo' season 5, titled "The Long-Distance Duck," the comedic chaos continues in the German-occupied town of Nouvion during World War II. René Artois, the café owner, finds himself entangled in a web of hilarious mishaps and dangerous encounters as he tries to navigate the treacherous landscape.

The episode kicks off with René receiving a peculiar package at Café René. To his astonishment, he discovers that it contains a live duck. This seemingly innocent delivery quickly takes on a more significant meaning as it becomes clear that the duck is no ordinary fowl. It contains a top-secret message intended for the Resistance.

As the British airmen disguised as French policemen, Officer Crabtree and Officer Fairfax, are on their way to retrieve the message from the duck, chaos ensues. René must carefully navigate the delicate situation, making sure the duck and the message fall into the right hands without alerting the Germans to their activities. With his quick wit and cunning, he manages to keep both the Gestapo and the Resistance in the dark, at least for now.

Meanwhile, René's wife, Edith, finds herself at the center of a love triangle. Michelle, the leader of the Resistance, has developed romantic feelings for her, much to Yvette's dismay. The situation becomes increasingly complex as Edith must navigate her newfound admirer's advances while keeping her husband in the dark. Will she succumb to Michelle's charms, or will loyalty to René prevail?

As if René's plate isn't full enough, he also faces pressure from the unpredictable Lieutenant Gruber. Gruber has developed an infatuation with René and is determined to win his affections. With his overzealous devotion causing constant misunderstandings and awkward encounters, Gruber's persistence adds another layer of comedy to this already convoluted tale.

Back at the café, the German officer, Colonel von Strohm, and his bumbling sidekick, Captain Geering, are up to their usual mischief. In an attempt to secure themselves a reliable long-distance radio for covert communication, they conspire with René and his brother-in-law, LeClerc. Their schemes involve yet another element of chaos as the two officers try to outsmart each other and secure their own personal gains.

Amidst all the comedic confusion, the Resistance learns of a German plan to transport a valuable painting out of the country. Determined to prevent the Nazis from profiting from stolen art, Michelle enlists René's help in securing the painting. With the duck's message playing a crucial role, René tries to keep his involvement hidden from the Germans while simultaneously supporting the Resistance.

As the episode comes to a close, the delicate balance of René's double life hangs in the balance. With multiple parties vying for his loyalty, he must make decisions that could jeopardize his safety and the safety of those around him. His quick thinking and ability to charm his way out of tight spots will be put to the ultimate test in this thrilling and hilarious installment of Allo' Allo'.

"The Long-Distance Duck" promises to deliver the signature blend of farce, wit, and slapstick comedy that fans of Allo' Allo' adore. With numerous subplots intertwining and larger stakes at play, this episode is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, laughing all the way through. Don't miss out on the madcap adventures of René and his eccentric companions in this uproarious installment of one of Britain's most beloved sitcoms.
