In "Another Period" season 1 episode 6 titled "Lillian's Birthday," the hilarious and irreverent historical comedy continues to chronicle the outrageous lives of the Bellacourt family, an affluent and dysfunctional aristocratic clan living in Newport, Rhode Island, during the early 20th century.

As the episode begins, the Bellacourt sisters, Lillian (Natasha Leggero) and Beatrice (Riki Lindhome), are anxiously preparing for a grand celebration to honor Lillian's birthday. Lillian, always the attention-seeking and self-absorbed sister, eagerly anticipates the glamour and opulence that such an occasion would naturally bring. Beatrice, on the other hand, has her reservations about the ostentatiousness of the event and is more concerned about the family's dwindling fortune.

Meanwhile, the Bellacourt servants, known as the "downstairs folk," are equally caught up in the preparations. Blanche (Beth Dover), the housemaid, busies herself with decorating the mansion, while the butler, Peepers (Michael Ian Black), meticulously plans every detail of the party. Amidst the commotion, Chair (Christina Hendricks), the head servant, attempts to keep everyone in line with her no-nonsense demeanor.

As the day progresses, both upstairs and downstairs, chaos ensues. Lillian becomes increasingly distraught that her birthday party is not receiving the attention and grandeur she believes she deserves. She unleashes her frustration on her husband, Victor (Brian Huskey), who desperately tries to salvage the situation and make his wife happy. Simultaneously, Beatrice struggles to confront her mounting debts and seeks the help of Albert (David Koechner), a conniving local politician and would-be suitor.

Unbeknownst to the Bellacourts, new family secrets begin to unravel. Hortense (Artemis Pebdani), the sisters' dimwitted and eccentric aunt, stumbles upon a mysterious love note that illuminates a scandalous affair involving a prominent member of Newport society. With her usual absent-mindedness and flair for the dramatic, Hortense sets out on a misguided mission to uncover the truth, inadvertently causing further mayhem and confusion among the household.

Amidst the turmoil, other members of the Bellacourt family are also dealing with personal challenges. Frederick (Jason Ritter), the completely oblivious and self-obsessed brother, struggles with his own identity crisis, while his wife Beatrice attempts to navigate her marital frustrations. Meanwhile, Peepers finds himself entangled in a love triangle as he wrestles with his feelings for Blanche and a fellow servant named Garfield (Brett Gelman).

With the party finally in full swing, all characters collide in a whirlwind of deceit, costumed extravagance, and unexpected revelations. The night unfolds with uproarious twists and turns as the Bellacourt family and their ever-loyal servants navigate the unpredictable consequences of their actions.

"Another Period" season 1 episode 6, "Lillian's Birthday," is a riotous display of the Bellacourt family's exaggerated and absurd antics, set against the backdrop of a bygone era. With its clever satire, flamboyant characters, and uproarious interactions, this episode promises to deliver another dose of comedic brilliance that will leave audiences eagerly anticipating the next outrageous installment of the show.
