Ugly Americans is an animated sitcom that takes place in the United States. It is about a social worker Mary Lily employed by the Department of Integration. This is an alternative reality of New York City that is occupied by monsters and other strange creatures. This unique series was created by Devin Clark. David M. Stern developed this program into a series. The show aired on comedy central in March 2010. It has a flat rather stark visual style like some 1950's comics. A number of strange aliens and monsters live in New York City as regular Americans citizens. The social worker Willy helps all these strange beings adjust to their life in a human society. When he is not trying to help others he has to deal with his own life and problems. His roommate is Randall Skeffington who becomes a zombie to get a cute girl and does odd jobs to help pay the rent. Callie Maggotbone is Mark's supervisor and girlfriend who is half demon. This series has a wide range of creatures like wizards, robots, demons, ghosts, mummies and zombies. The pilot starts out with Mark helping out different creatures and trying to get along with his roommate and girlfriend. In one episode Mark teaches or tries to teach a Werewolf and his victim trust. In another episode Mark has to help two tree creatures participate in a festival where they are expected to publicly mate. It is a ritual. In one of the series Mark Willy must cope with a woman that wants to become a vampire like her boyfriend. Mark and Randall definitely run into some serious complications when they decide to accompany Callie to Halloween trip to hell to meet her family. The second series is filled with similar plots and strange goings on. This series is geared to older teens and college kids with the subject matter. It has violence, sex, drugs, smoking and language issues. Some viewers find it offensive.
