Amid the stark discord of twin cities Piltover and Zaun, two sisters fight on rival sides of a war between magic technologies and clashing convictions. Arcane (titled onscreen as Arcane: League of Legends) is a 2021 adult animated streaming television series. It is set in the League of Legends universe. The series was announced at the League of Legends 10th anniversary celebration. It was produced by French animation studio Fortiche under the supervision of Riot Games. Set in the past relative to the League of Legends universe, Arcane serves as a prequel to the game and retells the origin stories of several characters from Piltover and Zaun. Like the game on which it is based, Arcane is aimed at a "16+" audience.
