Arrested Development Season 5 Episode 4

Ep 4. Old Start, An

The fourth episode of the fifth season of Arrested Development, titled "Old Start, An" begins with the Bluth family dealing with the aftermath of the prior episode's revelation that Lucille 2 is missing. Michael is struggling with his loyalty to his family and his desire to do what's right, as he continues to investigate Lucille 2's disappearance. Meanwhile, Gob tries to reinvent the magic acts he performed in Iraq, which includes a dangerous trick involving a sword and a hatchet.

Lindsay, who is getting involved in politics, attempts to make a meaningful connection with her constituents, but her attempts at being taken seriously are consistently thwarted by her own family members. Tobias tries to help Lindsay with her political aspirations, but his methods are unconventional to say the least. Maeby and George Michael are still working on their new film project, and while things are going well financially, they encounter some challenges when it comes to the content of their film and pleasing their investors.

As the episode progresses, each member of the Bluth family is forced to confront their own personal demons. Tobias, who is struggling to find purpose outside of acting, decides to pursue a new career path that takes him to unexpected places. Lindsay realizes that she may not be cut out for politics after all and has to confront the reasons behind her initial decision to get involved. George Michael begins to feel the repercussions of his actions from the end of the fourth season and struggles to maintain his relationship with Maeby.

The episode also features some notable guest stars, including Ron Howard, who returns to play himself once again, and takes on a prominent role in the Bluth family's attempt to locate Lucille 2. There are also appearances from Hollywood legends like Isla Fisher and Peter Weller, as well as comedic talents Andrea Savage and Brandon Wardell.

Overall, "Old Start, An" is a solid episode in the fifth season of Arrested Development. It continues to explore the dynamics of the dysfunctional Bluth family and adds some much-needed character development for some of the series' more underdeveloped characters. While it may not be the most hilarious or memorable episode in the show's history, it still delivers plenty of laughs and sets up some intriguing plot points for the rest of the season. Fans of the series will definitely want to give this episode a watch to see how the story continues to unfold.
