In the seventh episode of season two of Backyard Envy, titled "I Gotta Grow Now," landscaping experts James, Garrett, and Melissa take on some unique and challenging projects.
The episode opens with James visiting a client who wants to transform an unused rooftop space into a functional entertainment area. The space is full of potential, but it's currently an eyesore covered in dead plants and debris. James immediately starts to brainstorm ideas for how he can turn the space into a beautiful oasis. He wants to include comfortable seating, a bar area, and plenty of greenery, but he's faced with the challenge of working with a limited amount of space.
Meanwhile, Melissa and Garrett visit a huge estate in New Jersey where they're tasked with revitalizing an overgrown hedge maze. The maze is a stunning feature of the property, but it's been neglected for years and is now too difficult to navigate. Melissa and Garrett need to trim back the overgrown bushes and create a path that will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. They also want to add some fun features, like secret nooks and crannies for kids to explore, but they'll need to work carefully to avoid damaging any of the existing plants.
Back in New York City, James and Melissa team up to tackle an indoor garden for a client who needs some help managing her large collection of rare plants. The space is filled with unique and unusual specimens, but they're not thriving like they should be. James and Melissa need to figure out the best way to replicate the tropical environment the plants require so that they'll start to grow again.
As always, the Backyard Envy team faces plenty of challenges throughout the episode. They have to navigate tricky cleanup jobs, deal with difficult clients, and find ways to work around unpredictable weather. But even when things get tough, James, Garrett, and Melissa remain committed to creating beautiful outdoor spaces that their clients will love. They're determined to help people grow amazing gardens, no matter what it takes.
