In Barnwood Builders season 10 episode 7 titled "Sweet Home Louisiana," the crew travels to Louisiana to help a family restore a historic farmhouse. The farmhouse was built in the early 1900s and has been in the family for generations, but it has fallen into disrepair over the years. The family wants to bring it back to its former glory and has enlisted the help of Mark and the team to make it happen.

The first challenge the team faces is getting the massive barn beams they need for the project. The family has a barn full of huge cypress beams that they want to use in the restoration, but they're not sure how to get them out without causing damage to the structure. With some ingenuity and the help of a local crane operator, the team is able to carefully extract the beams and transport them to the construction site.

Once on site, the team starts work on the farmhouse. They begin by carefully dismantling the exterior of the house so they can see what needs to be repaired or replaced. They discover that the original foundation of the house is made from cypress logs, which is unusual but fits with the historical significance of the house. The team decides to leave the logs in place and build a new foundation around them to preserve the original structure.

With the foundation in place, the team starts rebuilding the exterior of the house using the reclaimed cypress beams. They carefully fit each beam into place, making sure that everything is level and secure. The team uses traditional joinery techniques, like mortise and tenon and half-lap joints, to ensure that the joints are strong and will last for generations.

While working on the exterior, the team also begins work on the interior of the house. They discover that the house has a unique floor plan with a central hallway that runs from the front door to the back of the house. They decide to keep this feature and create a rustic look by using rough-cut lumber for the floors. They also build custom cabinetry and shelving using reclaimed barnwood, which adds character to the interior.

As the construction continues, the team faces some unexpected challenges. They find that some of the windows are too small for the openings, which means they have to reframe the windows to fit properly. They also discover that the original roof trusses are rotted and need to be replaced, which delays the project by a few days. Despite the setbacks, the team perseveres and is able to complete the restoration on time and within budget.

At the end of the episode, the family is thrilled with the results and can't believe how much the farmhouse has been transformed. They feel like they've gotten a piece of their family history back and are grateful to the team for their hard work and dedication. The team is also proud of what they've accomplished and feel like they've made a meaningful contribution to preserving Louisiana's rich architectural heritage.
