After the heart-wrenching premiere episode of Baskets season 4, viewers were left wondering what Chip's next move would be after losing his mother and the family rodeo business. In episode 2, titled "Baby Chip," we see that Chip is still struggling to find his footing and a sense of purpose.

The episode begins with Chip sitting at his mother's grave, talking to her as if she's still with him. He's clearly still grieving and feeling lost, but his thoughts are interrupted when he hears a baby crying in the distance. As he follows the sound, he comes across a woman in labor who needs his help. Without hesitation, Chip jumps into action and assists in delivering the baby.

This encounter sets off a chain of events that ultimately leads Chip to have to take care of the baby himself for a short period. We see him struggle with the responsibility, as he's never taken care of a child before and feels ill-equipped to handle the job. However, he's determined to do his best and his nurturing side begins to emerge as he becomes more attached to the baby.

Meanwhile, Christine is still dealing with the aftermath of losing both her husband and the family business in such a short amount of time. She's lost and feeling hopeless, but she begins to find solace in attending grief counseling meetings. It's refreshing to see her character in a more vulnerable state, as she's typically portrayed as tough and independent.

Martha, on the other hand, is dealing with the stress of planning and executing a rodeo event all on her own. She's determined to keep the family business alive and seems to be stepping up to the plate in the absence of Chip and Christine. However, she's met with resistance from the rodeo community, as many people don't believe that a woman can successfully run a rodeo.

Overall, "Baby Chip" is an emotionally charged episode that explores the theme of family and the lengths that people will go to in order to take care of their loved ones. We see Chip step out of his comfort zone and take on a huge responsibility, while Christine and Martha continue to navigate the aftermath of their own personal losses. The show does a great job of balancing the humor and heart in each episode, and "Baby Chip" is no exception. Fans of the show will not be disappointed with this latest installment.
