Ep 6. Everything AND the Kitchen Sink

In the season 4, episode 6 of Bath Crashers titled "Everything AND the Kitchen Sink," the show features a lucky couple whose bathroom is plagued with dated fixtures, a cramped space and little storage. Upon arriving on the scene, host and contractor Matt Muenster takes one look at the bathroom and declares that it’s time for a major renovation.

The couple is initially overwhelmed by the scope of the project but quickly warmed up to Matt's fun personality and expertise. Matt assures them that their bathroom will be transformed into a spa-like retreat with additional storage solutions that will help them maximize space.

First on the list, the team moves to knock down the small cramped shower that is hardly functional for a couple obsessed with the art of showering. They also remove the tub, vanity, and old lighting to give the room an entirely blank canvas.

Matt begins by building a roomy and luxurious shower, with an entire side dedicated to rainfall showerheads. He also adds a bench seat for relaxing during showers, plus a glass-block wall to allow added natural light to pour in from a window in the new shower’s location.

To ensure the updated bathroom has ample storage options, Matt installs cabinets above the new vanity, and beneath the sink. The new sink is a beautiful over-mount type and adds more counter space than the previous vanity.

Matt also adds a unique touch to the bathroom with an accent wall containing a one-of-a-kind backsplash that features glass marbles and tiles shaped like pebbles which give the bathroom a natural, fresh feel.

As with every "Bath Crashers" episode, Matt doesn't just stop at the bathroom. He takes the opportunity to also update the adjacent closet in the master bedroom, adding built-in-wall-to-floor cabinetry for clothes storage and shelves with personalized storage baskets.

Afraid that with all these changes, the bathroom will lack adequate lighting, Matt installs a recessed can lights that create an open and inviting ambiance. He concludes the renovation by putting down a driftwood-patterned porcelain floor that gives the bathroom an inviting and timeless vibe.

With this latest transformation, Matt has once again created a luxuriant and inviting spa-like bathroom that makes the couple's morning and evening routines, not just enjoyable, but also stylish. The homeowners are thrilled, and so the viewer is left inspired to transform their bathroom as well.
