Ep 3. Amarillo

Jimmy McGill continues to struggle with his personal and professional life, as he faces the consequences of his actions from the previous season. In the third episode of season two, titled Amarillo, Jimmy ventures out of Albuquerque for a business opportunity in a new town.

The episode opens with Jimmy packing his car and hitting the road to Amarillo, Texas, where he plans to film a commercial for a local business. Along the way, he stops at a local diner where he strikes up a conversation with the waitress. He can't help but turn on his charm as he tries to get her to spill some secrets about the small Texas town.

When Jimmy arrives in Amarillo, he meets with a client named Kevin, who wants him to produce a commercial for his law firm. Kevin is a wealthy lawyer, and Jimmy sees an opportunity to make a lot of money. However, he quickly realizes that making this commercial is going to be nothing like what he's used to.

Jimmy enlists the help of a local film crew, but he finds himself frustrated with their lack of professionalism. He tries to take over the production, which leads to some tension between him and the director. However, things really start to go south when he realizes that Kevin wants him to feature a cheesy tagline in the commercial.

Jimmy is torn. On one hand, he knows that this tagline will ruin the commercial and potentially damage his reputation. On the other hand, he really needs the money. He spends the rest of the episode trying to figure out what to do, as he grapples with his own conscience and the pressures of the job.

Meanwhile, back in Albuquerque, Mike Ehrmantraut is also dealing with the fallout of the previous season. He meets with his daughter-in-law and granddaughter, but the visit is cut short when he receives a mysterious phone call. It's clear that Mike is not out of danger yet, and that there are still people who want him dead.

As the episode progresses, we start to see the parallel struggles of Jimmy and Mike. Both men are trying to make ends meet, but they're both struggling to keep their morals intact.

The episode culminates with Jimmy making a decision about the commercial. He has a heart-to-heart conversation with Kevin, and it's clear that Jimmy has developed a soft spot for the man. In the end, he decides to go along with the cheesy tagline, much to the dismay of the film crew.

As per usual with Better Call Saul, the episode ends with a cliffhanger that leaves the audience both intrigued and confused. There are still so many questions left unanswered, but the show continues to be a masterclass in storytelling and character development.

Overall, Amarillo is a great episode that continues to build on the foundation set by the previous two seasons. The acting is superb, the writing is sharp, and the directing is top-notch. If you're a fan of the show, you won't want to miss it.
