Sam Fox, a single mother of three daughters, is gearing up to celebrate Father's Day. Though her daughters do not have fathers in their lives, Sam takes it upon herself to make the day special for them. Sam's eldest daughter, Max, is planning to spend the day with her new boyfriend, while middle daughter Frankie is trying to cope with her changing body and the anxieties that come with it. The youngest daughter, Duke, is struggling to come to terms with her own identity.

As Sam navigates the day, she reflects on her own complicated relationship with her father. She recalls memories of him taking her out to eat at fancy restaurants, but also the trauma of his abusive behavior. Sam is also reminded of the absence of her own husband, who left her years ago.

Despite the challenges and emotions of the day, Sam tries to make the most of Father's Day with her girls. She takes them to a local restaurant for brunch, where they bond and reminisce about their favorite childhood memories. Later, Sam and her daughters visit a park, where they participate in a yoga class and release lanterns in honor of their absent fathers.

As the day comes to a close, Sam reflects on the complexities of fatherhood and the impact that absent or abusive fathers can have on their children. She acknowledges the pain that her daughters feel and makes a vow to always be there for them, no matter what.

Overall, "Father's Day" is a poignant and touching episode that explores the complicated emotions surrounding absent fathers. It highlights the resilience of single mothers and their ability to create meaningful experiences for their children, even in the face of adversity.
