Jimmy McGill, better known as Saul Goodman, is introduced into the storyline in the eighth episode of the second season of Breaking Bad titled "Better Call Saul." When Walter White's meth production business continues to grow, his personal attorney just isn't cutting it anymore. Therefore, Saul Goodman is brought in as a criminal lawyer who will do whatever it takes to ensure the operation is successful.

As Walter and Jesse grapple with their failed attempt to kill Tuco, the duo contemplates their next steps. Walter comes to the realization that he cannot continue on as they have been, and that they need to have the best criminal lawyer around if they want to have a chance of getting through the storm. This is where Saul Goodman comes in.

The introduction of Saul Goodman to the show is a breath of fresh air. He is quirky, comical, and brings a new dimension to the storyline. Goodman immediately begins to make jokes about Walter and Jesse's situation, but he also proves his worth as a skilled lawyer. He advises Walter and Jesse to come up with a cover story, which they do. Goodman then introduces them to someone who will help them dispose of their vehicle, which occurs before the police can search it and connect them to Tuco's murder.

The episode also showcases more depth to the character of Saul Goodman. Viewers learn that he is not only a criminal lawyer, but a con artist who is used to dealing with shady characters. Additionally, during a meeting with Walter and Jesse, Saul reveals that he is in some legal trouble of his own and that he is operating in a borrowed office. This reveals that Goodman is slightly shady himself, but in a manner that is endearing to audiences. He does whatever it takes to cover his tracks and ensure that his clients are protected.

This episode serves as a turning point for Walter and Jesse. They've come to the realization that they can't continue their criminal operations as amateurs. In order to keep their operation going, they need a professional. This is where Saul Goodman comes in. He's the perfect addition to their team as he brings years of experience and skills with him. Together, they can make a formidable team.

As the episode progresses, their situation grows more and more precarious. Tuco's uncle, Hector Salamanca, begins to sniff around, and Walter grows more paranoid that he will be caught. Goodman urges Walter to stay calm, but it's clear that he's also worried about the situation. The tension is palpable, and the danger only increases. With the introduction of Saul Goodman, viewers know that things are about to get interesting.

Overall, "Better Call Saul" is a pivotal episode in the Breaking Bad series. It introduces a beloved character who has his own spin-off show, Saul Goodman. Additionally, it moves the storyline along and shows viewers the depths to which Walter will go in order to keep his operation going. The introduction of Salamanca also adds a new level of danger and intrigue to the plot. Between Goodman's humor, his clever strategies, and his willingness to do whatever it takes, he's the perfect addition to Walter and Jesse's team. Episode 8 of season 2 is a must-watch for Breaking Bad fans.
