Ep 9. South Wales

Come Dine with Me Couples season 2 episode 9 takes place in the picturesque region of South Wales, as four couples prepare to battle it out over a week of dinner parties for the chance to win a cash prize.

First up is Fiona and Gary, who plan to transport their guests to the Mediterranean with a Greek-themed menu, complete with homemade hummus, lamb koftas and baklava for dessert. The couple are confident in their cooking abilities, but struggle to connect with some of the other contestants.

Next is Joanna and David, who have been married for twenty-two years and are keen to show off their culinary skills. For their dinner party, they create a refined Welsh-themed menu, featuring ingredients sourced from local producers. They impress their guests with a starter of cockles and laverbread, followed by lamb and finished off with a decadent chocolate opera cake.

Third in the running are Janine and Paul, who opt for a Moroccan-inspired menu. Their guests are treated to a feast of spiced lamb, tagine and couscous, as well as homemade harissa and flatbread. However, the couple's decision to serve their main course family-style doesn't go down well with everyone.

Last but not least are Sarah and George, who are determined to win with their experimental menu of Asian fusion cuisine. They take risks with every course, including a starter of scallops with black pudding and a dessert of wasabi panna cotta. While they impress some of their guests with their creativity, others are left unsure about some of the more unusual flavour combinations.

As the week progresses, tensions rise between the contestants, and there are a few heated moments at the dinner parties. However, there are also moments of warmth and laughter as the couples get to know each other better.

At the end of the week, the contestants reconvene for the final evening, where they each rate each other's dinner parties and find out who will be crowned the winner of Come Dine with Me Couples season 2 episode 9.
