Come Fly With Me is a mockumentary style comedy television series that follows the day-to-day operations of a fictional airport, Her Majesty's Airports (HMA), and the eccentric employees that keep it running. The show is created and performed by Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the same comedic duo responsible for Little Britain.

Season 1, Episode 1 is appropriately titled Episode 1 and sets the tone for what viewers can expect from the series as a whole. The episode introduces key characters including the airport's owner and manager, Taaj Manzoor, and the overzealous airport security officer, Ian Foot. Along with these two, a host of other airport staff are also introduced, including the check-in staff, the coffee stand workers, and the flight attendants.

One of the central storylines of this episode is the introduction of Flylo Airlines, a budget airline with questionable safety standards. The episode opens with Taaj and his assistant, Melody, preparing for the launch of Flylo at HMA. We see the staff hastily painting Flylo logos on baggage carts and setting up the Flylo ticket counter at the last minute. This sets an early tone for the airport's chaotic nature.

In addition to Flylo's launch, we are also introduced to Karen and Helen, two middle-aged flight attendants who work for Our Lady Air, HMA's premium airline. Karen and Helen have a bubbly, overly-chatty demeanor and are obsessed with serving their customers perfectly. Their interactions with the passengers are over-the-top and usually poorly received, leading to several comedic moments.

While Karen and Helen are catering to the premium passengers, we see the struggle of the Flylo crew as they deal with a flight that is delayed due to a technical issue that Ian Foot is responsible for. The Flylo captain is none other than Lucas and Walliams donning a variety of disguises as they attempt to shirk their responsibilities. Lucas appears as a traditional captain while Walliams plays a stewardess.

The episode also introduces characters that will reappear throughout the series. These include Moses Beacon, an immigration officer with questionable techniques of interrogation, and Mickey, the airport's maintenance man who is a habitual drug user.

Overall, Episode 1 of Come Fly With Me does a great job of setting the stage for the rest of the series. It introduces the characters that will become mainstays and sets the tone of the show with its witty humor and outrageous situations. While not the strongest episode of the series, it is still highly entertaining and sets expectations for the audience for the rest of the season.
