"Early 21st Century Romanticism" is the 15th episode in the second season of the television sitcom Community. The episode first aired on February 10, 2011, and was directed by Tristram Shapeero.

The episode begins with the Greendale study group planning a Valentine's Day party and Jeff (Joel McHale) deciding to invite Professor Slater (Lauren Stamile), whom he had dated earlier in the school year. When the group learns that Professor Duncan (John Oliver) also has feelings for Slater, they decide to encourage him to pursue her, instead of Jeff.

Meanwhile, Abed (Danny Pudi) convinces Troy (Donald Glover) that he is in love with his Spanish class partner Annie (Alison Brie). Despite Troy's initial denial, he eventually realizes that he has feelings for Annie and decides to let her know how he feels.

As the party approaches, tensions rise between Jeff and Duncan, both vying for Slater's attention. When Slater arrives, both men try to woo her, but she ultimately chooses neither of them, leading to a fight between Jeff and Duncan.

Meanwhile, Troy tries to confess his feelings to Annie but becomes nervous and backs out. The two end up performing a Spanish rap duet together, which causes Troy to blurt out his love for Annie in the middle of the song. Annie is surprised but receptive to his affections.

The episode ends with both Slater and Duncan leaving Greendale, leaving their romantic interests behind. Jeff apologizes to the group for his behavior and thanks them for their support, while Troy and Abed bond over their newfound romantic impulses.

"Early 21st Century Romanticism" is a classic example of the humor and heart that made Community such a beloved show. The episode's focus on romantic relationships allowed for some great character development and moments of genuine emotion, while still allowing for plenty of laughs and hijinks. The performances from the cast are top-notch, with standout moments from McHale, Oliver, Glover, and Brie. Overall, this episode is a must-watch for fans of the series and anyone looking for a fun, heartfelt comedy.
