Darkness: Those Who Kill is a Danish thriller series that follows a police investigator named Jan Michelsen (played by Kenneth M. Christensen) and a criminal profiler named Louise Bergstein (played by Natalie Madueño) as they try to solve cases involving the abduction and murder of young women. In this first episode, we are introduced to the characters and the premise of the series.

The episode starts with a girl named Julie, who is walking alone at night near a deserted area. She is kidnapped by a man who drives a white van, and her disappearance is reported to the police. Jan Michelsen is the lead investigator assigned to the case and Louise Bergstein is brought in to help with the profiling of the perpetrator.

As they investigate the case, Jan and Louise discover that the man who kidnapped Julie is a serial killer who has been active for years. They also learn that the man has a specific pattern when it comes to selecting his victims - all of them have been young women who have been walking alone at night.

The detectives work tirelessly to gather evidence and piece together the clues left by the kidnapper. They eventually find a connection between the victims and a local dance club. They visit the club to speak with the employees and the patrons, hoping to find a lead that can help identify the killer.

While at the club, Jan and Louise meet a young woman named Rosa, who resembles the previous victims. They bring her in for questioning and discover that she has a connection to the killer. However, she is not able to provide any concrete information that could lead to his arrest.

As the investigation continues, the detectives become increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress. They are able to identify a suspect, but he has a solid alibi and there isn't enough evidence to hold him in custody. This setback only serves to increase the urgency of the investigation, with Jan and Louise working around the clock to gather more clues.

The episode ends with a tense moment as the detectives close in on the kidnapper. However, the outcome of the investigation is left unresolved, setting the stage for the rest of the series.

Overall, this first episode of Darkness: Those Who Kill does an excellent job of setting up the premise of the series and establishing the characters of Jan and Louise. The tension is high throughout the episode, with the stakes getting higher as the investigation progresses. Viewers who enjoy dark and gritty crime dramas will likely find a lot to appreciate in this series.
