Crystal Nelson and Juan Ortega are at a crossroads in their relationship, and they've come to Divorce Court seeking resolution. Crystal begins by saying that Juan is a controlling and abusive partner who has given her an ultimatum: either cut off contact with her friends and family or lose him. Juan counters by saying that Crystal is an untrustworthy partner who has lied to him about everything from her past relationships to her current whereabouts.

As Judge Lynn Toler listens to their arguments, she tries to get to the heart of the matter, asking them to explain why they're still together if they seem so unhappy. Crystal and Juan both say that they love each other, but they're not sure if they can trust each other anymore.

To dig deeper into their issues, Judge Toler questions each of them individually. When talking to Crystal, she learns that Crystal's childhood was marred by her mother's drug addiction, and as a result, Crystal had to raise herself and her younger siblings. She says that she has trust issues because of her upbringing and because Juan has been unfaithful in the past.

When Juan speaks with Judge Toler, he says that he's trying to be a better partner but feels like he's not getting credit for his efforts. He also reveals that Crystal has a history of substance abuse and that he's concerned she's sliding back into old habits.

In an effort to help Crystal and Juan see each other's point of view, Judge Toler suggests they participate in an exercise where they each write down what they think the other person wants out of the relationship. Crystal's list includes things like trust, honesty, love, and support. Juan's list includes similar items, but also includes things like fidelity and respect.

After reading each other's lists, Crystal and Juan both acknowledge that they want similar things out of the relationship but have different ways of going about getting them. Judge Toler encourages them to work on their communication and to be more open and honest with each other.

At the end of the hearing, Judge Toler advises Crystal and Juan to take some time apart and to seek counseling to help them work through their issues. She says that they can come back to Divorce Court at any time for further guidance, but that the most important thing is for them to do what's best for themselves and for their relationship.

Overall, this episode of Divorce Court is a sobering reminder that relationships can be difficult, especially when unresolved issues from the past come into play. Crystal and Juan are clearly struggling, but with the help of Judge Toler and their own willingness to work on their problems, there may still be hope for their future together.
