Doctor Foster is a British drama series created by Mike Bartlett. It stars Suranne Jones as the eponymous protagonist. The series follows Dr. Gemma Foster, a successful GP who appears to have it all – a loving husband, a beautiful home and a son, Tom.

Gemma's suspicions are further fueled when she discovers that Simon has been lying to her about his whereabouts. Gemma decides to do some investigating of her own and enlists the help of her colleague and friend, Dr. Sharma, played by Navin Chowdhry.

Together, Gemma and Dr. Sharma follow Simon and his mystery woman to a hotel. When they confront Simon, he finally admits to having an affair. Gemma is devastated and feels like her whole world has been turned upside down.

The rest of the episode follows Gemma as she tries to come to terms with the news of Simon's affair. She confides in her close friend Ros and her mother, played by Victoria Hamilton, but finds it difficult to trust anyone.

Gemma also struggles to maintain her composure at work, especially when she has to deal with patients who are going through similar situations. Gemma's personal life begins to bleed into her professional life, and she finds it challenging to keep things separate.

The episode ends with Gemma making a difficult decision about her future with Simon. She realizes that she can no longer trust him and that their marriage is over. Gemma and Simon have a final confrontation, which leaves Gemma feeling both sad and relieved.
