Ep 9. Empress of Mars

The Doctor and Bill travel back to the Victorian era, where they stumble upon a group of British soldiers on a mission to colonize Mars. The TARDIS lands on the Red Planet, where the Doctor and Bill are approached by Ice Warrior Friday, who takes them to his leader, the Ice Queen of Mars. Despite initial misgivings, the Doctor manages to strike a deal with the Ice Queen: he helps them in their quest to locate their long lost Empress of Mars, and in return, they will allow the soldiers to leave Mars safely.

The group discovers that the Empress has been awakened from cryogenic freezing and has taken over the human settlement on Mars, forcing the humans to mine for precious gems and metals. The Doctor and Friday join forces with the soldiers to try to overthrow the Empress and reclaim the planet for the humans, but things go awry when the Empress reveals her true intentions.

The Doctor finds himself torn between his loyalty to humanity and his respect for the Ice Warriors, who had been on Mars long before the humans arrived. As tensions rise between the two warring factions, the Doctor must find a way to quell the conflict and restore balance to the planet.

Just when it seems like all hope is lost, a surprising twist changes everything and forces the Doctor to make a bold decision that will have lasting repercussions for all involved. The episode ends on a heartwarming note, with the Doctor and Bill reflecting on the meaning of friendship and the importance of showing compassion even to those who seem at first to be enemies.
