Ep 8. Eggs-treme Measures

In season 6 episode 8 of Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER, titled Eggs-treme Measures, viewers join Dr. K and the staff of Broward Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital as they tackle a variety of unusual cases that come through their doors.

The episode begins with Dr. K treating a 22-year-old parrot named Mango who is experiencing difficulty breathing. Upon examination, Dr. K discovers that the gliders have dental problems that will require surgery. The team must use extreme caution during the operation as sugar gliders are known for their fragile and delicate bone structure.

Finally, the team is called to see a gecko who has not been eating and is losing weight. Dr. K suspects that the gecko may have a parasite and orders a series of tests to confirm her suspicions. The team works quickly to get the gecko on a treatment plan to rid him of the harmful parasite that has been wreaking havoc on his digestive system.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse of the passion and dedication it takes to work with exotic animals. Dr. K and her team take on every case with sensitivity and care, and viewers are left with a renewed appreciation for the complex and fascinating creatures that inhabit our world.
