Ep 4. Witch Day

Duncanville season 1 episode 4 titled "Witch Day" follows Duncan, a 15-year-old boy who has to deal with the daily challenges of adolescence while navigating his complex relationship with his mother and his sister. In this episode, the family is getting ready for Witch Day, the Wiccan holiday that Ginny, Duncan's mother, takes very seriously. While the rest of the family is excited about the festivities, Duncan, who is not very fond of the holiday, is not looking forward to it.

As the day approaches, Duncan starts to have strange dreams about a witch, and he wakes up to find he has a zit on his forehead. He tries to hide the zit from his sister, but she finds him out and tells him that the family has to perform a ritual to cleanse themselves of any negativity in their lives before the start of the holiday. Duncan is skeptical but goes along with it.

At school, Duncan's world is turned upside down when he sees his crush, Mia, passionately kissing her boyfriend. He becomes obsessed with the image and starts to see it everywhere he goes. Meanwhile, his mother is making a big deal about the Witch Day celebration and wants the family to look their best. She even buys a new broomstick for the occasion, but when they get to the party, they find that the other witches are laughing at them for being so old-fashioned.

The day gets even weirder when Duncan and his sister, Annie, get lost in the woods and stumble upon a coven of real witches who are performing a ritual. They are initially scared, but when the witches explain that they are not evil and that the ritual is a way to release negative energy, they start to feel more comfortable. Duncan even starts to feel a connection to the witch from his dreams, who turns out to be one of the coven members.

Back at home, the family is trying to perform the cleansing ritual that Ginny suggested, but Duncan's father, Jack, is having trouble letting go of his negativity. Duncan helps him realize that letting go of negativity is a process and that it's okay to take your time. Eventually, the family finishes the ritual, and Ginny is pleased with their progress.

As the episode comes to a close, Duncan discovers that Witch Day can be fun as he watches his family dancing around the fire with their new witch friends. He starts to see the world in a more positive light and realizes that life is full of surprises.
