Frank Murphy and his family return for another season of F Is for Family, the hit Netflix original animated comedy series. In season 2 episode 7, titled "Fight Night", tensions are high in the Murphy household as Frank tries to relive his boxing glory days, much to the annoyance of his wife Sue. Meanwhile, Kevin and his best friend Bill get into a fight at school and are forced to settle their differences in a boxing match that evening.
The episode begins with Frank training for a local amateur boxing tournament. He spends all his time at the gym and neglects his family, much to Sue's dismay. She confronts him about his obsession with boxing and reminds him of the other responsibilities he has as a husband and father. Frank dismisses her concerns and continues to train.
At school, Kevin and Bill get into a heated argument over a girl they both like. The argument quickly escalates into a physical altercation, and they both end up getting suspended. After Kevin's punishment is over, he returns home to find his dad preparing for his boxing match. Frank is determined to win and regain some of the glory he had in his youth.
Later that evening, the Murphy family attends the local boxing tournament to watch Frank compete. Meanwhile, Kevin and Bill are preparing for their own boxing match in Bill's backyard. The two friends put on gloves and helmets and begin to fight, much to the amusement of their classmates who have gathered to watch.
Back at the tournament, Frank gets into the ring and starts to fight his opponent. However, it quickly becomes apparent that Frank is not in the same physical shape as he was in his youth, and he becomes winded very early on in the fight. Despite his determination to win, Frank ends up losing the match.
Meanwhile, Kevin and Bill's fight in the backyard is also not going well. They both become tired and dizzy, and the fight ends in a draw. After the fight, the two friends make up and apologize to each other for their argument. They realize that their friendship is more important than any girl.
Back at home, Frank apologizes to Sue for neglecting his family and promises to be more present in their lives. Sue forgives him and they share a loving moment together. The episode ends with the Murphy family sitting on the couch, watching a boxing movie together and laughing.
Overall, "Fight Night" is an enjoyable episode of F Is for Family that explores themes of friendship, family, and the desire to relive former glory. The animation style is charming and the voice acting is top-notch, as always. Fans of the show will not be disappointed by this episode.
