Ep 4. Throne for a Loss

Crichton and the crew of Moya are hit with a slave collar attack on a planet and end up losing Rygel to a group of enemy soldiers. The kidnappers demand a ransom of medicine, but it's revealed that they actually plan on auctioning Rygel off to the highest bidder. Meanwhile, D'Argo struggles with the discovery that his people exiled him for a false reason.

As the episode opens, the crew of Moya is in the process of salvaging some food and supplies from an abandoned Peacekeeper base. Things quickly take a turn, however, when Crichton and Aeryn are attacked by soldiers who attach slave collars to them. Together with fellow crewmates Zhaan and D'Argo, they make their way to Rygel, only to find him already taken by the soldiers.

The kidnappers demand that they bring them certain medicine in exchange for Rygel's release. The crew are initially divided over whether or not to negotiate with the kidnappers, but ultimately decide to try and make a deal. Once they arrive with the requested medicine, however, they discover that the kidnappers plan on auctioning Rygel off to the highest bidder.

Meanwhile, D'Argo is plagued by memories of his past, particularly his exile from his people. He confides in Zhaan that he was blamed for the death of his wife, but Zhaan informs him that she was actually murdered and that he was framed by someone within his own government. D'Argo is shocked and saddened by the revelation, but it helps him come to terms with his past and re-ignite his sense of honor.

Back at the slave auction, the crew fights to prevent Rygel from being sold off. Crichton is able to negotiate a trade with the auction's organizer, giving him the medicine in exchange for Rygel's freedom. However, as they attempt to make their escape, Aeryn is shot and the kidnappers begin pursuing them once again.

In the end, the crew manages to make it back to Moya, but not without a few close calls. D'Argo is able to retrieve some of his belongings from the Peacekeeper base, and decides that he will start seeking out the true culprit behind his wife's death. Rygel is also grateful to be back among the crew, and more appreciative of their loyalty than ever before.

Overall, "Throne for a Loss" is a thrilling episode that focuses on the crew's loyalty to one another, as well as the ways in which they handle their own personal demons. Though it might seem like just another adventure on the surface, it delves deeper into the show's underlying themes of trust, friendship, and sacrifice.
