Finding Alice is a drama series from ITV Hub starring Keeley Hawes, Isabella Pappas and Nigel Havers that premiered in January 2021. Alice's journey is laced with hilariously inappropriate behavior courtesy of her in-laws, David (Nigel Havers) and Sarah (Joanna Lumley), who appear to be hiding secrets of their own. David is a charmer, but there is something uneasy about his behavior, and Sarah is a strange enigma who does what she wants, spending most of her time at the bar. They bring a touch of dark humor to the story and keep viewers engaged throughout the show.

Keeley Hawes plays Alice with authenticity, bringing out the complexities of Alice's emotions with a profound understanding. Alice is a character who is raw, vulnerable and displays an incredible amount of strength throughout the show. Isabella Pappas, as Charlotte, also delivers a remarkable performance. Her character is in many ways the voice of reason, bringing some stability into Alice's chaotic life.

The showrunners do an excellent job of keeping viewers engaged in Alice's journey. They are able to tackle some challenging topics like grief, loss, infertility, mental health, among others, incredibly well. Finding Alice manages to balance heavy moments and provide much-needed comic relief without making a mockery of the subject at hand.

The beautifully shot series also boasts of outstanding production design, complete with a stunning modern-house backdrop that has various compartments which fuel the mystery of what Harry was really up to. The intricacies of the house and its well-planned design provide an additional layer of symbolism to the show.

Finding Alice proves to be an enticing, thrilling, and darkly comic series that deals with tough subjects in an impressive way. Keeley Hawes is undoubtedly the heart of the series, as she deftly performs her role, giving viewers someone they can resonate with as they follow her journey to self-discovery. There is a lot to get wrapped up in with Finding Alice, but it remains grounded in its central narrative of people lost and trying to find a way forward. The show is filled with fascinating contradictions and layer upon layer of secrets and true emotions.
