The hit dating show, First Dates (AU), is back with another episode full of romantic encounters, as hopeful singles take a chance on finding love. In this episode, we meet a diverse range of daters, all looking for that special connection.

First up, we meet 32-year-old Samantha, who is searching for a partner who shares her passion for travelling and seeing the world. She’s matched with Brenton, a 35-year-old software engineer who also loves to explore new places. However, things get off to a rocky start as Brenton admits to being nervous and struggling to find the right words. Will they be able to overcome their awkwardness and find common ground?

Next, we meet 31-year-old para-athlete Matt, who is looking for someone to share his active lifestyle with. He’s matched with 29-year-old hairdresser Simone, who is intrigued by Matt’s positive attitude and determination to succeed. However, as they get to know each other, Simone reveals her own insecurities about her appearance, putting a strain on their date. Will Matt be able to show Simone that his attraction to her goes beyond physical appearance?

The third couple of the evening is 25-year-old welder Cal, who has a reputation for being a party animal, and 24-year-old marketing coordinator Tahlia, who is hoping to find someone who will take her seriously. Despite their vastly different lifestyles, Cal and Tahlia seem to hit it off, bonding over their love of heavy music and tattoos. However, as the night progresses, Tahlia starts to feel uncomfortable as Cal’s party antics start to come out. Will she be able to look past his wild side and see if there is a genuine connection between them?

Fourth in line is 27-year-old finance worker Dan, who is seeking a partner who can challenge him intellectually. He’s matched with 26-year-old teacher Vic, who is drawn to Dan’s confidence and ambition. However, their date takes a turn for the worse when Dan reveals his less-than-impressive dating history. Will Vic be able to look past Dan’s past mistakes and give him another chance?

Finally, we have 31-year-old firefighter Michael, who is looking for someone who is down-to-earth and shares his love of the outdoors. He’s matched with 29-year-old nurse Mandy, who is searching for a man who can treat her with kindness and respect. As they chat over dinner, Michael and Mandy seem to have a lot in common, but as the night wears on, Michael’s nerves start to get the best of him. Will he be able to keep his cool and show Mandy what a great catch he is?

As always, the First Dates restaurant provides the perfect backdrop for these romantic encounters, with its chic decor and cosy booths creating an intimate atmosphere.
