House Rules is an Australian reality television show that aired on Seven Network in the year 2013. It was hosted by Johanna Griggs and co-hosted by Carolyn Burns-McCrave and Wendy Moore. This series was all about house renovation and interior designing, and it featured six teams from different states of Australia who competed against each other to win a grand prize of their mortgage paid off.

The show comprised of six teams, each consisting of two contestants. These teams had to renovate each other's houses according to the 'house rule' of the homeowner. Each week, the teams moved to a new location and worked on a new house, making it more desirable than the original. The competition didn't stop here, as the expert judges would rate the renovated houses based on design, functionality, and overall appeal. The team that scored the highest received an advantage in the elimination round.

One team got eliminated every week, and the competition went on until the grand finale. In the finale, the two remaining teams competed against each other to renovate seven rooms of a mansion in just seven days. The final product was judged by the experts, the homeowner, and public vote, with the team that had the highest score winning the coveted prize of having their mortgage paid off.

The show focused on the contestants’ renovation skills, designing talents, and creative ideas. In each episode, viewers watched as the contestants worked tirelessly around the clock, dismantling and refurbishing their competitors' homes. The competition was quite fierce, and the teams had to stay on top of their game to avoid elimination. It was interesting to see how the different teams used their creative minds and design skills to make the homeowners' dream homes come true.

Besides the competition, the show also had a few emotional moments, especially when it came to the homeowners. Many of them had family issues that the contestants tried to address while renovating their home. For example, one of the contestants' father had passed away, and the team dedicated their renovation to the deceased father. Another example was when a contestant diagnosed with cancer completed the renovation of his house, which was touching to watch.

The show also featured expert judges, who were there to offer tips and feedback to the contestants. The judges evaluated each renovation based on design, practicality, and overall appeal. Contestants had to ensure that their renovation fit within the homeowner's house rule and also followed the expert judges’ rules. The judges' feedback was crucial to the contestants’ success, and it was always interesting to see how each team implemented it into their renovation project.

The host of the show, Johanna Griggs, brought the show to life with her vibrant personality and deep understanding of the contestants’ situation. She also offered tips and advice to the contestants, with her witty comments adding a dash of humor to the show.

Overall, House Rules was an entertaining and engaging show that featured talented contestants who worked hard to renovate homes to perfection. It also offered a glimpse into the contestants’ personal lives and how the renovation process can impact them emotionally. Johanna Griggs, Carolyn Burns-McCrave, and Wendy Moore did a great job hosting the show, and the expert judges offered valuable feedback to the contestants. It was an enjoyable and captivating show that kept the viewers hooked until the end.
