- May 5, 2016
On First Dates (Ireland) season 1 episode 3, viewers will be introduced to a brand new group of singletons seeking love. As with previous episodes, the show's premise remains the same: participants meet for the first time in a restaurant specially designed for the occasion. From there, they are given the chance to get to know one another over dinner. Some will hit it off instantly, while others may stumble through awkward conversation or struggle to make a connection. Regardless, viewers can expect plenty of intriguing and heartwarming moments across this hour-long episode.
The first couple we meet are Conor and Laura. Conor is a 27-year-old carpenter and Laura is a 29-year-old radiographer. Laura is looking for someone who is kind, caring and ambitious. Meanwhile, Conor is hoping to find someone who shares his passion for sports and fitness. It seems the two are off to a promising start as they discuss their interests and quickly discover that they both enjoy running. However, things take a turn for the awkward when Conor admits to Laura that he chose his profession because he's "not good with words." Laura seems a bit taken aback, but eventually, the two seem to find their footing and enjoy each other's company.
Next up is 23-year-old student Nathan and his date, 27-year-old GP Niamh. Nathan is immediately taken with Niamh's bubbly personality, but seems nervous and shy throughout their conversation. Niamh, on the other hand, is full of questions and seems determined to get to know Nathan better. The two bond over their love of music and Nathan shares that he plays guitar in a band. Niamh seems impressed and the two enjoy a flirtatious back-and-forth throughout the meal.
Later in the episode, we meet 25-year-old Danny and 24-year-old Ciara. Danny is a bartender and Ciara is a social care worker. The two seem to hit it off right away, with Danny impressing Ciara with his charm and wit. The conversation flows easily and the two share stories about their hometowns and childhoods. Danny even manages to impress Ciara's father, who happens to be dining at the restaurant. The two seem to have great chemistry, but whether or not it leads to a second date remains to be seen.
The final couple we meet in this episode is fitness instructor Keith and 31-year-old mental health nurse, Emma. The two seem to have a lot in common, with both sharing a love of fitness and healthy living. However, Emma is guarded at first, reluctant to let her guard down and open up to Keith. Eventually, the two bond over their shared experiences and Emma reveals that she has been in a long-term relationship in the past that ended badly. Keith seems understanding and supportive, and the two leave the restaurant feeling hopeful about their future together.
