Florida Sportsman's Project Dream Boat is a thrilling TV series dedicated to recreational boating, as well as the creative minds behind building custom-made boats. In season one's fourth episode, 23 Seacraft Intro, Rigged Out Pathfinder, viewers are introduced to a new level of boating engineering and design.
The episode kicks off as host Ali Hussainy takes a trip to Stuart, Florida, to visit the SeaCraft Boats manufacturing facility. SeaCraft has been building unique, high-performance center console boats for over 40 years. The Florida Sportsman team explores the storied history and exceptional craftsmanship of the company through meeting the guys behind the creations. Ali gets a behind-the-scenes look at the process that created some of the hottest and most legendary boats in the industry.
The 23 SeaCraft is one of their most iconic designs, and this time, Space Coast Marine is tasked with refreshing one of the few remaining 23 SeaCrafts. This upgrade is not a restoration or rebuild but operates as a modification on an already legendary design. Brad and J.T. (owners of Space Coast Marine) explain how they plan to enhance its functionality and performance while preserving its classic look.
The team at Space Coast Marine had their sights set on this project for a long time. They aimed to bring the 23 SeaCraft to a new level and enhance its offshore capabilities while keeping J.T.'s vision of preserving the beauty and heritage of the classic design in mind. The vessel needs to be highly efficient and lightweight as well, and to achieve this, they employ a Fusion M.S. Stereo System and a multipurpose crossover Simrad Sounder.
Next in line, Ali visits the Pathfinder Boats facility to check out the 2600 Hybrid model, which someone has already purchased. The Pathfinder brand boat is made for anglers and has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a modern boat. The Project Dream Boat team shows what is possible with this kind of boat by rigging an already fantastic design with top-tier electronics, powerful outboards, and a custom wrap.
The team replaces the standard Garmin electronics with Upgraded Garmin electronics plus following high tech facilities; Fusion Signature Series music system, Simrad S5100, Airmar Transducers, and power-friendly lithium-ion batteries. They chose to repaint the entire exterior with a custom wrap instead of gelcoat to preserve the original paintwork, and the result is breathtaking.
Overall, this episode of Project Dream Boat showcases the skill and professionalism that goes into the customization and modification of boats into high-performance and exquisite designs. In this case, upgrading an icon like the 23 Seacraft goes beyond enhancing the features and performance, it's about preserving the heritage and beauty of one of the industry's most legendary designs. Watch as the team at Space Coast Marine turns a classic SeaCraft design into a modern marvel and rigging out an already formidable Pathfinder boat with top-of-the-line electronics and aesthetic upgrades.
