Hyun-su manages to convince her that he doesn't know anything about the murders, but the investigation takes a toll on him as he struggles to keep up with the lies.
Meanwhile, Hyun-su's daughter, Eun-ha, goes missing from the preschool. Hyun-su and his wife frantically search for her but the search proves unsuccessful. The school calls Hyun-su's wife, Ji-won, and informs her that Eun-ha has not been picked up. Ji-won questions Hyun-su about Eun-ha's whereabouts but Hyun-su claims that he doesn't know where she is. Hyun-su's wife then receives a call from a man who has found Eun-ha's school bag and tells her to meet him at a nearby bridge.
Hyun-su and his wife rush to the bridge to retrieve Eun-ha's bag. While there, Hyun-su sees a man who he thinks might be the culprit in the Handam Art Center murders. Hyun-su takes a photo of the man's car, and later calls the police to report it.
Back at home, Hyun-su's wife is inconsolable and blames Hyun-su for letting Eun-ha go missing. Hyun-su starts to feel guilty for keeping all his secrets from her and insists that he will do anything to bring Eun-ha back home. He goes to the police station and meets Ji-won to offer his help with the Handam Art Center murders investigation. Ji-won agrees to accept his assistance, but warns him that if she finds out he's involved in the murders he will be in trouble.
As Ji-won and Hyun-su review CCTV footage of the suspect in the Handam Art Center murders, they realize that something strange is happening with the thumbnails of the footage. They suspect that someone might be tampering with the CCTV footage and decide to search for the missing thumbnails.
They follow multiple leads and discover that the CCTV technician, who was responsible for maintaining the cameras, had been fired from his previous job due to his embezzlement and gambling habits. They soon find out that he has been using the missing thumbnails to blackmail Handam Art Center.
After a long chase, they finally apprehend the technician and retrieve all the missing footage. Ji-won and Hyun-su watch the footage to see if they can find any clues about the suspect in the Handam Art Center murders but come up empty handed.
In the end, Eun-ha is found safe and sound by a couple who had picked her up on the street. Hyun-su is relieved and grateful to the couple but still cannot shake off the feeling of guilt for keeping secrets from his wife.
