Gay Of Thrones is a comedy web series that follows comedian Jonathan Van Ness as he hilariously recaps the latest episodes of Game of Thrones while giving his clients hairstyling makeovers in his salon. In season 8, episode 1, "Winterfella" with guest Bryan Safi, Jonathan and Bryan discuss the highly anticipated premiere of the final season of Game of Thrones.
The episode starts with Jonathan and Bryan in the salon, ready to talk about the first episode of the new season. Jonathan kicks things off with a quip about how cute Jon Snow's butt is, before diving into the action-packed episode. They discuss the fact that Winterfell is now crawling with people, and the awkward reunion between Bran, Sansa, and Jon. They gush over Arya's badass moments and discuss the significance of Jon riding the dragon with Daenerys. They also debate the meaning behind Cersei's pregnancy, and whether or not she's actually pregnant at all.
As always, Jonathan injects his signature humor and sass into the recap, making hilarious comparisons between the characters and real-life celebrities, and poking fun at the show's more ridiculous moments. He also manages to sneak in some fantastic hair puns, like referring to Jon Snow's hair as his "winter mane" and describing Bran's new haircut as a "psychic buzz cut."
Throughout the episode, we also get to see some amazing hairstyling transformations. One of the highlights is when Jonathan gives Bryan a Daenerys-inspired braided updo, complete with a fierce blonde wig. We also get to see a creative Lady Mormont-inspired look, as well as a hilarious take on Cersei's signature long, blonde locks.
Overall, "Winterfella" is an incredibly fun and entertaining episode of Gay Of Thrones, perfectly capturing the excitement and anticipation surrounding the final season of Game of Thrones.
