Ruth Wilder, a struggling actress in Los Angeles, continues her journey to make it big in the world of professional wrestling in episode 2 of GLOW season 1 titled "Slouch."

As the episode starts, we find Ruth struggling to cope after being rejected by the casting directors for a TV drama. Her roommate Debbie Eagan, a former soap opera star, is also struggling to adjust to her new life as a mother.

Desperate for work, Ruth responds to an ad in the paper, which promises a big break to women interested in professional wrestling. The ad is placed by a director named Sam Sylvia, who is looking to create a new wrestling show for the struggling local TV network.

Ruth turns up to the audition, nervous and out of her depth, as she has never watched wrestling before. Sam, who is gruff and abrasive, immediately dismisses her when she introduces herself as an actress. However, Ruth's persistence and willingness to learn eventually impresses Sam, who invites her to join the wrestling training camp.

The episode follows Ruth as she begins her training alongside a group of other misfit women who are also looking to make it big in wrestling. The group is initially cynical and dismissive of each other, but through a series of hilarious mishaps, they start to bond and form a formidable team.

The training sessions are overseen by Sam and a washed-up former wrestler named Cherry Bang, who is determined to make a name for herself once again in the wrestling world. Ruth soon discovers that wrestling is far more difficult than she imagined, as she struggles to master the moves and stunts required.

Throughout the episode, Ruth's insecurities and lack of self-confidence are highlighted, as she often compares herself unfavorably to the other women in the group. However, at the end of the episode, she finally finds a move that she excels at, which boosts her confidence and earns her the respect of the other women.

In addition to the wrestling training, the episode also delves deeper into the personal lives of the characters. We see Ruth struggle with relationships, as she starts to develop feelings for Sam, who is clearly not interested. We also see Debbie struggling to adjust to her new life as a mother and a housewife, which leads to tension between her and her husband.

Overall, episode 2 of GLOW season 1 is a hilarious and heartfelt exploration of the world of professional wrestling and the women who inhabit it. It is a great continuation of the series that introduces new characters and plotlines while providing plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments.
