Ep 6. A House Divided

Miles Finer (Brandon Micheal Hall) is back in action for episode 6 of "God Friended Me" season 1. In "A House Divided," Miles gets a new friend suggestion from The Almighty - an engineer named Ian (Adam Goldberg). Ian is notable for having helped develop a popular home assistant AI named Mira, which has revolutionized the way people live their lives.

Miles soon realizes that there's more to Ian's story than just being an engineer. Ian has a personal connection to Mira as he's been estranged from his wife, Charlotte (Lauren Ambrose) who helped him develop Mira. With Charlotte's assistance, Mira has become something beyond what Ian had initially intended it for, and their disagreements led to their separation.

Meanwhile, Miles is also dealing with his own personal struggles. His father's church is in trouble, and the congregation doesn't seem to be taking kindly to Miles' more modern, youth-friendly approach to preaching. With the help of fellow believer Cara Bloom (Violett Beane), Miles is determined to save the church, but it won't be an easy task.

As Miles delves deeper into Ian and Charlotte's story, he realizes that their struggles have many similarities to his own. Miles's relationship with his father, who is stuck in the old-fashioned ways of preaching, is somewhat akin to Ian and Charlotte's disagreements, and it's clear that Miles sees something of himself in the couple's situation.

The episode follows Miles as he tries to solve the problem of the church and help Ian and Charlotte reconcile. Miles discovers that perhaps he has been too focused on technology and that he needs to place more emphasis on human connection. It's all leading up to an emotional moment when Ian, Charlotte, and Miles finally confront their emotional baggage and make amends.

"A House Divided" is a classic episode of God Friended Me in that it really emphasizes the importance of human compassion. Technology and AI might be changing our lives in new and incredible ways, but they can never replace the bonds we have with other human beings. With its emotional heart and narrative intelligence, "A House Divided" makes for excellent television.
