Another subplot involves Guy Secretan (Stephen Mangan), a self-absorbed surgeon who is obsessed with impressing a woman he met at a wedding. He enlists the help of his colleague, Dr. Martin Dear (Karl Theobald), to help him with a grand romantic gesture. However, their attempt at serenading the woman with a rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" goes horribly wrong.

Throughout the episode, the characters' personal and professional lives become increasingly intertwined, as the rumor creates tension and awkwardness between them. The hospital descends into chaos, with patients being misdiagnosed and procedures going awry.
