Highlander: The Series Season 2 Episode 17 Warmonger

In Highlander: The Series season 2 episode 17, "Warmonger," immortal swordsman Duncan MacLeod becomes embroiled in a conflict between two rival crime bosses, both vying for control of lucrative smuggling routes into the United States. Drawing on his centuries of experience and his skills with a blade, MacLeod uses all of his wits and instincts to outsmart his foes and stay alive in an increasingly dangerous world.

As the episode opens, MacLeod is approached by an old friend and fellow immortal, Hugh Fitzcairn (played by Roger Daltrey of The Who). Fitzcairn has recently been doing business with two rival smuggling organizations, known as the Red Hand and the Devil's Brigade, and has come to MacLeod for help in getting out of the situation alive. MacLeod agrees to lend his friend a hand, but soon finds himself in over his head as he becomes the focus of both groups' attention.

One of the leaders of the Red Hand is a beautiful but ruthless woman named Maria (played by Vanity), who becomes enamored with MacLeod after seeing him in action. Meanwhile, the Devil's Brigade is led by a vicious and sadistic man named Kearney (played by Gerard Plunkett), who will stop at nothing to crush his enemies. As MacLeod tries to navigate this perilous landscape, he also has to contend with an ambitious police captain (played by Peter Firth) who is determined to take down both smuggling rings.

As the conflict between the Red Hand and the Devil's Brigade heats up, MacLeod finds himself in the middle of a brutal war. His friendship with Fitzcairn is put to the test as the stakes get higher, and MacLeod is forced to make some tough choices in order to stay alive. Ultimately, he must face off against both Maria and Kearney in a final showdown that will have far-reaching consequences for all involved.

With stunning fight sequences, complex characters, and a tense atmosphere that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, "Warmonger" is a standout episode in Highlander: The Series' second season. As always, Adrian Paul turns in a riveting performance as the hero with a sword, while the supporting cast delivers excellent work across the board. For fans of action, drama, and high-stakes adventure, this is an episode not to be missed.
