In season 2 episode 9 of Highlander: The Series, titled "Run for Your Life," Duncan MacLeod finds himself on the run from the Watchers, an organization dedicated to recording the lives and deaths of Immortals.
As the episode opens, MacLeod is surprised to find Watcher Joe Dawson waiting for him at his apartment. Dawson warns MacLeod that the Watchers are coming for him, believing that he has killed another Immortal. MacLeod insists that he's innocent and tries to explain that he was simply defending himself during a fight, but Dawson tells him that the Watchers won't care.
As MacLeod prepares to flee the city, he's ambushed by a group of Watchers who've tracked him down. Faced with no other options, MacLeod runs for his life, pursued by the Watchers on foot and in cars.
Meanwhile, one of the Watchers, a young woman named Sarah, has doubts about the mission to capture MacLeod. She remembers watching him on the sidelines of his many battles, and admires his bravery and skill. Sarah secretly helps MacLeod by helping him evade the other Watchers and leading him to a safe place to hide.
Despite Sarah's help, MacLeod knows that he can't stay hidden forever. He decides to set a trap for the Watchers, using himself as bait. He leaves a message for Dawson, telling him to meet him at an abandoned warehouse. When Dawson arrives, he's shocked to see MacLeod waiting for him - and surrounded by Watchers.
Dawson demands to know what's happening, and MacLeod explains that he's hoping to use the situation to bring the Watchers to the negotiating table. He believes that the Watchers are digging their own graves by hunting and killing Immortals, and that they need to find a way to coexist peacefully.
The conversation is cut short by the arrival of another Immortal, a brutal and sadistic killer named Kern. Kern doesn't care about the Watchers or their mission - he's simply eager to take down MacLeod and add his head to his collection. A fierce battle ensues, with MacLeod and Dawson fighting for their lives against Kern and his minions.
In the end, MacLeod triumphs over Kern and convinces the Watchers to listen to his proposal. He proposes that they work together to find a way to limit the number of Immortals, and to prevent them from fighting each other to the death. Though not everyone is onboard with the idea, the episode ends on a hopeful note, with MacLeod and Dawson walking away from the scene, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
