Housebroken season 1 episode 3, entitled "Who's Wild?," follows a group of household pets as they navigate their daily lives. The episode centers around the question of which animal is the wildest in the group.
As the animals go about their business, it becomes clear that each of them has a unique personality. The group is led by a poodle named Honey (voiced by Lisa Kudrow), who is very organized and particular about her routine. She takes pride in her role as the "queen bee" of the household and tries to keep everyone in line.
Next up is a lazy old bloodhound named Niblet (voiced by Will Forte), who spends most of his days lounging around and dreaming of snacks. He often frustrates Honey with his lack of motivation and unwillingness to follow the rules.
Then there's Diablo (voiced by Jason Mantzoukas), a hyperactive and unpredictable cat who loves to cause chaos. He's constantly getting into trouble and pushing the limits of what the other animals will tolerate.
Rounding out the group are the more laid-back animals: a turtle named Shel (voiced by Tony Hale), a hamster named Chico (voiced by Sam Richardson), and a lovebird named Armadillo (voiced by Clea DuVall).
In this episode, the pets become obsessed with figuring out which one of them is the wildest. They each make their case, with Diablo claiming that his recklessness makes him the clear choice. Niblet argues that his endless appetite for food makes him the ultimate wild animal. Shel points out that turtles are known for their toughness and resilience, while Chico insists that his small size belies his fierce spirit.
The debate gets heated, with each animal trying to prove their wildness in increasingly absurd ways. Honey becomes exasperated with their antics, but she also can't resist the challenge of finding a way to settle the argument once and for all.
As the pets continue to bicker and scheme, they start to realize that their differences are what make them a strong and supportive group. They may not all be wild in the same way, but they each bring something valuable to the table.
In the end, Honey comes up with a plan to see who can stay awake the longest. The competition is intense, with each animal trying to outlast the others. But as the night wears on, they start to bond over their shared exhaustion and begin to appreciate each other's strengths.
In the end, the pets realize that being wild isn't the most important thing. It's their love for each other and their ability to work together that makes them a true family. They go to bed tired but happy, grateful for the unique personalities that make them who they are.
