It's A Living was an American sitcom that aired on Stadium Media TV from 1980 to 1989. The show revolved around the lives of several waitresses in a posh restaurant called Above the Top, located atop a high-rise building in Los Angeles. The main characters were Nancy Beebe (played by Gail Edwards) and Lois Adams (played by Barrie Youngfellow), who were joined by various other waitresses throughout the series.

The show featured a wide range of comedic scenarios that the waitresses encountered in their daily lives. Nancy was a single mother with a teenage daughter and a love-hate relationship with her ex-husband. Lois was a struggling actress trying to make it big in Hollywood, but was constantly thwarted by her waitressing job. The other characters included a ditzy blonde named Amy, a sassy African-American named Sonja, and a snooty French waitress named Isabelle.

One of the most notable aspects of the show was its unique opening credits sequence. It featured the waitresses dancing and singing to a catchy theme song while riding on a giant pink champagne cork, as they ascended to the top floor of the building where the restaurant was located.

The show was known for its sharp writing, witty dialogue, and strong performances by its cast. Gail Edwards and Barrie Youngfellow, in particular, were praised for their chemistry and comedic timing. The show tackled a variety of issues that were relevant to its time, including women's rights, sexual harassment, and the AIDS epidemic.

Throughout its run, It's A Living underwent several changes in its cast and format. In the early seasons, the focus was primarily on the relationships between the waitresses and their customers. Later on, the show shifted its focus to the personal lives of the characters, with storylines centered around their romantic relationships, family dynamics, and career aspirations.

Despite these changes, the show maintained its humor and heart throughout its nine-year run. It's A Living ended its run in 1989, but its legacy lives on as a beloved classic sitcom of the 1980s.

It's A Living is a series that is currently running and has 6 seasons (117 episodes). The series first aired on October 30, 1980.
