Apart from the tussle between the two cafés, the episode also explores the personal lives of Kate and Koji. Kate is still struggling to come to terms with her divorce and is finding it hard to move on. However, she finds a surprising confidante in the form of Terry, who shares a heartwarming story about his own personal struggles.

On the other hand, Koji is dealing with his own insecurities and is worried that he's not living up to Kate's expectations. He seeks advice from Eric, a regular customer at The Sea View, who offers him some unconventional advice.
