Kim's Convenience is a popular Canadian sitcom that focuses on a Korean-Canadian family living in Toronto. In season 2 episode 3 entitled "House Guest," Appa and Umma invite a distant relative to stay over, but their hospitality quickly turns to irritation when the guest starts taking advantage of their kindness.

The episode begins with Appa (played by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and Umma (played by Jean Yoon) preparing for the arrival of a cousin from Korea named Nayoung. Umma excitedly prepares the guest room and buys all the favorite Korean snacks and munchies for her cousin's arrival. However, when Nayoung (played by Amanda Wong) finally arrives, Appa and Umma are not exactly thrilled with what they see. Nayoung is not the polite and friendly relative they expected but rather someone who is extremely difficult to live with.

As the episode progresses, Nayoung eats all of Umma's snacks without asking permission, turns the house thermostat up to a sweltering degree, and takes long baths that leave the bathroom in a wet and messy state. Despite Appa and Umma's mounting frustrations, they try to hold their tempers and remain polite and hospitable.

Meanwhile, Janet (played by Andrea Bang) is dealing with her own troubles at her photography job. She is stuck taking photos for a real estate agency and is having difficulty capturing shots that satisfy her picky boss. Janet's frustration builds up as she contemplates quitting her job and pursuing her passion for fashion photography.

Back at the Kim's convenience store, Jung (played by Simu Liu) and Shannon (played by Nicole Power) are caught engaging in an unprofessional relationship by their boss, Kimchee (played by Andrew Phung). Kimchee gives Jung an ultimatum - either end the relationship or lose his job. Jung decides to break things off with Shannon and resumes working at the store.

As the day comes to a close, Nayoung's behavior reaches the peak of Appa and Umma's endurance. They finally snap and confront Nayoung about her rude and inconsiderate behavior. Nayoung is taken aback by the confrontation and apologizes, revealing that she was going through a rough patch and didn't know how to ask for help. Appa and Umma forgive her and the episode ends on a heartfelt note.

In conclusion, Kim's Convenience season 2 episode 3 "House Guest" is a charming and heartfelt episode that explores themes of family and hospitality. The acting is top-notch and the storylines are engaging, making this installment a must-watch for fans of the show.
