The episode begins with Appa trying to convince Umma to retire and take a break from working at the store. Umma, however, is not ready to retire and wants to continue working, insisting that it's her passion. Meanwhile, Janet is working on her photography project for school but is struggling to find inspiration. She visits Jung for advice, and he suggests that she explore her Korean identity and culture. Janet takes his advice and begins to take photos of her family and their Korean traditions.

At the store, Appa hires a new employee named Grace, who is a young Korean-Canadian woman. Appa is excited to have a new employee who understands their culture and can help attract more Korean customers. However, Grace soon proves to be unreliable and uninterested in working at the store. She frequently leaves early and does not follow instructions, frustrating Appa.

Janet's photography project begins to come together as she photographs her family cooking traditional Korean food and participating in cultural activities. However, when she shows her photos to her professor, he criticizes them for being too "ethnic" and not representing Canadian culture. Janet is disappointed but continues to work on her project.

Meanwhile, Appa continues to be frustrated with Grace and confronts her about her poor work ethic. Grace reveals that she is struggling with depression and has been having a difficult time lately. Appa, who initially didn't understand why Grace was acting the way she was, shows compassion and offers her support.

In the end, Janet's photography project is a success, and she decides to use her photos to create a Korean cookbook. Umma and Appa are proud of Janet's work and support her in her endeavor. Grace, who has been doing better at work since talking to Appa, agrees to help Janet with her cookbook.

The episode ends with the Kim family and Grace cooking together in the store kitchen and enjoying a traditional Korean meal. Janet takes photos of the moment, capturing the love, support, and shared traditions of the Kim family.
