Knights of Sidonia Season 1 Episode 8 Immortality

The episode starts with the Guardian pilots discussing the recent events that occurred on Sidonia. The pilots are troubled as they discuss the apparent immortality of the highly advanced Gauna beings. While the pilots are discussing, a suspicious-looking figure appears in the background of the discussion. Later on, Nagate and Izana are shown to be getting closer to each other and spend a lot of time together. Meanwhile, Yuhata, who is in charge of the maintenance of the Guardians, informs the pilots that the Guardian squad will be participating in an upcoming mission. The mission is to clear a path for the Sidonia to travel through an area of debris.

During the mission, the Guardian pilots come across a Gauna that is different from the others they have faced before. This Gauna seems to be unkillable and has the ability to endure multiple attacks. The pilots soon realize that this Gauna is one of the immortal ones that Lala Hiyama had been researching. The Guardian squad is forced to retreat as they are unable to defeat the Gauna.
