La Porta Rossa is an Italian TV series that tells the story of a chief commissioner, Sofia Amendola, who dies in a car accident. However, instead of going to heaven or hell, she wakes up in a rehabilitation center with no memory of who she is or how she got there. She finds out that she has been brought back to life to solve a case from her past involving her ex-husband and her daughter. Sofia must work with her former partner, Vittorio, to piece together her past and solve the case before it's too late.

Once there, Sofia is allowed to enter the room where Lara is being treated. Sofia is heartbroken at the sight of her daughter in such a fragile state. She sits by her daughter's bedside, hoping for a miracle, when suddenly Lara's eyes open. Lara looks at her mother and utters the word "Mamma" before falling back unconscious.

Sofia is encouraged by the fact that Lara is showing signs of improvement and decides to stay by her daughter's side until she wakes up. Back at the police station, Vittorio is confronted by Carletti who tells him that Sofia must be stopped at all costs. Vittorio is torn between his loyalty to the organization and his love for Sofia.

Episode 2 of La Porta Rossa ends with Sofia still sitting by Lara's bedside, watching over her sleeping daughter. Sofia knows that she has a long road ahead of her and that her past will continue to haunt her, but she is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her daughter safe.
