Ep 2. The Slide

In Lodge 49 season 2 episode 2, titled "The Slide," we see our main character Dud continuing to struggle with life after his father's death and with the loss of the beloved surfing shop he used to manage. Dud is searching for meaning and purpose in his life, and the Lodge seems to be the only place where he finds some solace.

Meanwhile, his sister Liz is dealing with her own problems. She is struggling to keep her bar afloat, while also dealing with an unexpected challenge. At the same time, the Lodge members are trying to deal with the loss of Larry Loomis, one of their own. They are trying to come up with a fitting tribute to him, but the task proves to be more difficult than they thought.

As the episode progresses, we see the Lodge trying to organize a memorial for Larry, but they are met with resistance from his family. We also see Dud trying to keep busy, but also coming to terms with the fact that he may never be able to surf again. He is trying to find a new purpose in life, and it seems like the Lodge might be the place to do that.

Despite their individual struggles, the Lodge members remain as close as ever. They are a community that supports each other and is always there when someone needs help. The Lodge is a place of comfort for Dud, and he feels a sense of belonging there that he has never felt before.
