Lyndey goes back to the kitchen to demonstrate some of the food highlights from her travels through the Peloponnese with her son Blair. She shows us how easy it is for the home cook to share a little of the tastes of Greece with their own families.

7. Olympia

February 23, 2013

Lyndey and Blair visit Mercouri Wine Estate, where they taste wines from Refosco grapes and Lyndey cooks lamb stuffed with traditional local 'trachanas'. Then it's onto the home of the Olympic Games, where Blair runs the length of the stadium of Olympia. More cooking and eating follows at Aldemar Olympian Village - delicious rabbit stifado and peppers stuffed with feta and graviera.

Lyndey and Blair savour Kalamata olives, local sausage, and souvlaki at a Kalamata market. They visit an olive oil and fig factory and learn about the attributes of good olive oil and sample chocolate-coated figs. Then, it's a walk around ancient Messine and Lyndey cooks traditional Greek rooster in wine and okra. Then it's onto a Venetian fortress - followed by a fierce game of backgammon.

Blair dives into a cold spring in the Mediterranean Sea and learns a classic Greek dance, while Lyndey learns about fisherman's soup. They visit a local gypsy market and devour a piece of roast pig for breakfast, then marvel at the spectacular Diros caves. It's then onto the wild, barren Vathia area and the Mani museum. Lyndey makes delicious 'diples' - a local sweet and Blair goes hiking.

4. Monemvasia & Kythira

February 2, 2013

An entertaining waiter serves Lyndey and Blair a traditional eggplant dish in a Leonidio taverna, after which they visited the magical cobbled streets of Monemvasia. Next, they don beekeeping outfits on the island of Kythira, the home of the world's best honey. Lastly, Lyndey learns to cook Rozedes - local almond biscuits and Blair discovers a local making wine in his "shed".

3. Navplio

January 26, 2013

After a boat trip to Bourtzi, Blair is hungry, so they enjoy lunch at Karathonas Beach and then move onto a tour and tasting at Karonis ouzo distillery. Blair runs up the 999 steps of the Palamidi Fortress while Lyndey tours the site above. Later the pair learn all about worry beads, including how to fidget! After a venue mishap, Lyndey and Blair learn how to roll dolmades at a local taverna.

2. Corinth

January 19, 2013

Lunch is enjoyed overlooking Ancient Corinth, followed by a trip to the Loutraki Thermal Spa. Next, Lyndey and Blair learn about native grapevines at the Gaia Winery. Then the duo put on an impromptu performance at the ancient amphitheatre of Epidavros. Later, a visit to the local market sees Lyndey scoop up the local catch which she cooks at sunset on Vivari Beach for the crew.
