Ep 1. Dr. Deception

But things were not as they seemed. Behind closed doors, Linda and John's marriage was falling apart. Linda suspected that John was having an affair, but he denied it. She also began to suspect that he was stealing prescription drugs from the hospital where he worked.

One day, Linda got a call from the hospital informing her that John had been found unconscious in the locker room. He had overdosed on drugs. Linda rushed to the hospital and was shocked to find out that John had been lying to her for years. He was not only addicted to drugs, but he had also been stealing drugs from the hospital to feed his addiction.

Despite this revelation, Linda stayed by John's side. She helped him through rehab and tried to support him as he worked to get his life back on track. But things only got worse. John's addiction spiraled out of control and he began to steal money from Linda's bank account to fund his habit.

Desperate for a way out, Linda came up with a plan. She convinced John that they needed to move to Florida so that he could start over and put his addiction behind him. She sold their house and packed up their belongings, but instead of moving to Florida, she took John to a hotel. She gave him a cocktail of drugs that she had been stockpiling and watched as he slipped into a coma. Linda then called the police and claimed that John had attempted suicide.

The police arrived and took John to the hospital, where he was declared brain dead. Linda was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. She claimed that she had only wanted to spare John and their children the pain and embarrassment of his addiction, but the prosecution argued that she had acted out of greed and a desire to control John.

"Dr. Deception" is a chilling look at the lengths to which people will go to keep their secrets hidden. It's a cautionary tale about the dangers of addiction and the consequences of deceit and betrayal. Linda and John's story is a reminder that even the most seemingly perfect marriages can be hiding dark secrets beneath the surface.
