Ep 13. The Sword in the Stone, Part 2

Merlin season 4 episode 13, titled The Sword in the Stone, Part 2, continues the story from the previous episode where Morgana and Helios are determined to capture Camelot. Morgana is driven by her desire to claim her rightful place as queen, and she has enlisted the help of Agravaine and Helios to aid her in her endeavor.

But as they are retrieving it, they are ambushed by Agravaine, who reveals that he has been working with Morgana all along and plans to kill Merlin.

A tense fight ensues between Agravaine and Merlin, with Gaius watching helplessly from the sidelines. Ultimately, Merlin triumphs over Agravaine and retrieves the Crystal Cave. But the victory is short-lived as Morgana manages to penetrate the castle walls with the help of Helios and his men.

With Morgana's army closing in, Merlin and Gaius retreat to the Crystal Cave and begin to formulate their plan. Merlin discovers that the cave is not just a magical object, but a place of great power that can show him visions of the future. Using the cave, Merlin sees that Arthur is destined to die if he faces Morgana's army head-on.

Merlin returns to the castle and reveals his vision to Arthur, convincing him to flee Camelot and head to a safe location. Arthur reluctantly agrees, but as they are trying to leave, they are ambushed by Morgana and her men. A fierce battle ensues, with Merlin and Arthur fighting side by side to fend off their attackers.

In the midst of the chaos, Merlin sees an opportunity to use Excalibur, the sword in the stone, to turn the tide of the battle. But in order to do so, he must reveal himself as a sorcerer and risk being executed by Arthur. Merlin decides to take the risk and reveals his magic, using Excalibur to defeat Morgana and her army.

As the dust settles, Merlin and Arthur have a heart-to-heart conversation about the true nature of magic and the role it should play in their kingdom. With Morgana defeated and Camelot safe once again, Merlin must once again return to the shadows and protect Arthur from the shadows.

The Sword in the Stone, Part 2, is an action-packed episode that brings the season to a satisfying conclusion. The stakes are high, the battles are intense, and the emotional moments are resonant. It's a fitting end to a strong season, with plenty of surprises and twists along the way.
