They quickly realize that the town is hiding something and decide to investigate further.

Meanwhile, MIU is tasked with doing background research on Karen and Oikawa. She discovers that Oikawa was a former yakuza member and that Karen has a criminal record for prostitution. MIU also discovers that Karen was in Ushimadai at the time of Oikawa's death and begins to suspect her involvement.

As Mikuriya and Yamamoto continue to investigate, they stumble upon a strange building in the town that seems to be connected to the disappearances. They break in and discover a room full of surveillance equipment and recordings of people being experimented on. They also find Karen, who reveals to them that she was kidnapped by a group of people who are experimenting on humans to create a new form of life. She explains that Oikawa was a part of the group, but he had a change of heart and tried to help her escape. She was on her way to meet him when he died.

Mikuriya and Yamamoto quickly realize that they are in over their heads and call for backup. MIU arrives on the scene with a team of special forces to take down the group responsible for the experiments. They manage to save Karen and shut down the operation.

The episode ends with Mikuriya and MIU reflecting on their investigation and their teamwork. Mikuriya admits that he initially didn't trust MIU, but she proved to be a valuable asset. They both vow to continue working together to solve the toughest cases and bring justice to those who need it.
