Ep 2. The Warrior

The episode follows the Johnson family as they navigate their new life after leaving the commune. Rainbow, the family's eldest daughter, struggles to fit in at her new school after being ridiculed for her mixed-race heritage. She tries to embrace her black culture by joining the school's African Dance Club, but finds it difficult to keep up with the other dancers. Meanwhile, Alicia, the Johnsons' mother, struggles to find a job after being a stay-at-home mom for many years. She takes on a job as a ride share driver, but is disappointed by the rude and entitled passengers she encounters.

As Thanksgiving approaches, the Johnson family decides to host a "Friendsgiving" and invite their new friends from the school and Alicia's ride share passengers. The dinner is a disaster as the guests clash over different opinions and cultural differences. After the meal, Rainbow has a heart to heart with her father about her struggles to fit in. He shares with her his own experiences with racism and reassures her that she is strong and capable of overcoming any obstacle.

The episode ends with the family coming together to appreciate their differences and celebrate their love for each other. They all take part in a traditional African dance, including Bow who finally finds her rhythm. The Johnsons learn it's possible to find unity in diversity and embrace their unique cultural identities.
