Ep 8. Weird Science

In the eighth episode of the first season of Mixed-ish, titled "Weird Science," the Johnson family faces a science fair project conundrum. After being assigned to work in groups, the children quickly realize that they don't have much in common with their co-workers, causing some tension and frustration.

Meanwhile, Rainbow's mother Alicia is dealing with her own issues at work, as she struggles to secure funding for a new project. When Denise, a colleague at work, promises to help Alicia out, she is skeptical but hopeful for a positive outcome.

As the science fair project progresses, the Johnson children begin to argue and bicker about the direction they want to take their project. Santamonica wants to create a robot, while Johan wants to focus on the environment. Rainbow tries to mediate and find a compromise, but it seems like an impossible task.

In the end, they decide to merge both ideas and create a "robot trash collector," but the project hits a roadblock when the robot malfunctions and starts wreaking havoc in their home. The family is forced to come together to fix both the robot and their relationships with one another.

Meanwhile, Alicia's problems at work intensify when Denise's help turns out to be more of a hindrance. Denise has misled Alicia and created a hostile work environment, causing Alicia to question who she can trust and what she should do next.

"Weird Science" highlights the importance of teamwork and communication, as well as the challenges that come with navigating the workplace. The Johnson family learns that compromise and collaboration are key to success, whether it's in the form of a science fair project or navigating office politics.
