Mushi-Shi (Original Japanese Version) season 1 episode 1 is titled "The Green Seat". The episode follows a wandering Mushi Master named Ginko as he travels to a remote village in search of a Mushi known as Tokoyami, which is said to be responsible for the death of a villager.

Upon arriving in the village, Ginko meets a young girl named Tanyu, who is the keeper of the village's records. She tells Ginko about the legend of Tokoyami and how it is believed to reside in a seat made from a certain type of wood, which has been passed down through generations of the village's leaders.

Ginko suspects that the wood used to make the seat is attracting the Tokoyami Mushi, and requests to see the seat for himself. However, the village elder refuses to show him the seat, believing that it will bring bad luck to the village if it is disturbed.

Despite the elder's warnings, Ginko begins to investigate the Tokoyami Mushi on his own. He discovers that the Mushi feeds on memories instead of physical matter, and that it is drawn to the seat because of the powerful memories that have been absorbed into it over time.

As Ginko continues his investigation, he starts to experience strange memories of his own. He realizes that his encounter with the Tokoyami Mushi has stirred up memories from his past that he had long forgotten.

In the end, Ginko is able to convince the villagers to let him remove the wood from the seat and destroy it, which causes the Tokoyami Mushi to disappear. Though the village is initially uneasy about this decision, they eventually come to realize that their memories and traditions are not tied to physical objects, but rather to the intangible bonds between people.

"The Green Seat" sets the tone for the rest of the series, with its focus on the mysterious and often otherworldly creatures known as Mushi. Ginko serves as a sort of detective and mediator between humans and Mushi, unraveling the mysteries behind their behavior and offering solutions to any problems they might cause. The episode also introduces the themes of memory and tradition, which will continue to be explored throughout the rest of the series. Overall, "The Green Seat" is a captivating and thought-provoking introduction to the world of Mushi-Shi.
